Gayla Kraetsch Hartsough Ph.D.

about_gaylaDr. Gayla Kraetsch Hartsough has been the President of KH Consulting Group (KH) since 1986. Her company specializes in strategic planning, organizational design and restructuring, marketing, human resources, information systems, and business process reengineering. KH has served more than 200 clients in twenty-five states and in six foreign countries. Much of her work involves strategic planning and organizational restructuring of local, state, and federal governmental agencies; higher education and K-12 educational systems; non-profit organizations; transportation systems; utilities; education enterprises; and health care providers.

Among her clients are the County of Los Angeles; City of Los Angeles; Los Angeles World Airports (LAX, ONT, VNY, PMD airports); Telstra Enterprise & Government (Australia), University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA); Port Authority of New York-New Jersey; County of Orange (California); San Francisco Community College District, Port of Los Angeles; Los Angeles Community College District; University of Southern California, City and County of Denver; Childrens Hospital Los Angeles; and the County of Los Angeles Civil Grand Jury.

Prior to launching KH, she was a Managing Consultant at Towers Perrin for six years, and a Senior Program Officer with the Management Division at the Academy for Educational Development (AED), a not-for-profit research firm in Washington, D.C. Her academic degrees are: B.S. from Northwestern University in communications studies; Ed.M. from Tufts University; and Ph.D. and M.Ed. from the University of Virginia. After receiving her doctorate, she was awarded a Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Award in higher education administration. Dr. Kraetsch Hartsough is also a member of Phi Delta Kappa.

She serves in various organizations and advisory boards, including: Organization of Women Executives (former President and Board member); BTW (former Board Member); Chair, the Mentoring Program for Northwestern University’s Council of One Hundred; Vice President, Peer Group Program; and, Board Member, the Northwestern University Entertainment Alliance (NUEA-West). BTW has just named her one of top fifty executive women over age fifty in Los Angeles for 2007.
