When EarthWorks Expo www.earthworks2009.com returns for the third year to the Denver Merchandise Mart (Aug. 22-23), it will offer attendees a comprehensive workshop schedule, two keynote presentations and 150 exhibitors showcasing Earth-friendly products and services.

EarthWorks Expo’s 42 workshops—the most in its three-year history--offer attendees in-depth information and experience in a wide range of sustainable-living topics.  “This year, the economy is weighing heavily on everyone’s mind and compounding the challenges we already face,” explains Michael Lindemann, Expo Director.  “Therefore, this year’s workshops will focus more than ever on practical skills and knowledge that our attendees can take home and immediately put to good use.

Topics for the 70-minute workshops include:  edible landscaping, passive solar techniques, home energy efficiency, composting, herbal medicine, solar hot water systems, growing vegetables all winter, and much more.  The complete workshop schedule is posted online at www.earthworks2009.com/workshops.html.

In addition to the workshops, attendees will have the opportunity to hear two leading sustainable living advocates as keynote speakers:  Albert Bates, an influential figure in the intentional community and ecovillage movements; and Woody Tasch, chairman and president of Slow Money, a nonprofit organization formed in 2008 to catalyze the flow of investment capital to small food enterprises.

Workshops, keynote presentations, exhibits, musical entertainment and children’s activities with birds and animals from the Denver Zoo are all included in the daily admission price of $5 for EarthWorks Expo--Denver’s most informative and empowering green-living event of the year.

The Denver Merchandise Mart is conveniently located at I-25 and E. 58th Ave.  Times for EarthWorks Expo are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23.  Daily admission at the door is only $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and youth.  Children age 12 and younger are free when accompanied by an adult. Parking is always free.
