Our third Green Adventure took place this past weekend, April 4th - April 7th, 2009, at Quail Springs (http://quailsprings.org) and was a huge success!

Sara Laimon, Guzel Gjenasaj and Amy Frame led ten students of Environmental Charter High School. They spent four days learning about permaculture, natural building, and relationship building with community and each other.

Not only did they learn the value of living symbiotically with their environment, they also thought of creative applications for the knowledge to be used in their school, communities, and homes. During the trip, film maker Alex Gorosh, led them in filming the solutions they plan on sharing with their peers and community. Check back soon for the finished films.

Every member of the group expressed their gratitude for the trip, many with 6 out of 10 planning to return for Quail Springs’ Sustainable Vocations program this summer. The unique program will prepare youth (ages 15-24) for diverse leadership roles that integrate sustainability into their communities and provides an experiential introduction to the growing green jobs market.

Students will earn an internationally recognized Permaculture Design Certification (72 hour course).
