Request for Your Help 

Earth Protect has submitted a proposal to the Knight News Challenge on "How can we strengthen the Internet for free expression and innovation". We submitted www.earthprotect.com, "Earth Protect's curated video focused site provides a one-stop location for shedding light on the impacts and issues facing the natural and human-built environments, through a collaborative learning/sharing platform..."

In June they will award $2.75 million, including $250,000 from the Ford Foundation, to support the most compelling ideas. 

We are in the public comment phase so our entry now it needs social media attention!  Please spread the word within your networks and within the EP community to like, adore, and share this submission so it will be recognized and move to the top of the pack.  The submissions are in the feedback phase and community feedback is needed.  The public comment period ends in 11 days. Please act today to support and comment on our submission.

Earth Protect’s curated video focused site provides a one-stop location for shedding light on the impacts and issues facing the natural and human-built environments, through a collaborative learning/sharing platform. Since the goal of Earth Protect is to move from story-sharing to action, the site also facilitates events, collaboration, interaction, and local to global plus individual to collective activities. Combining the arts and sciences through visual story-telling utilizing videos makes Earth Protect accessible to all.

Earth Protect, inspires, through video and digital media, the global adoption of cultural, environmental and economic solutions for a restorative future. Earth Protect tells the stories of people and organizations protecting the earth through its video-focused web site, www.earthprotect.com and creates those stories through its film production division, www.earthprotectproductions.com.

EarthProtect shares and creates stories about people and organizations protecting the earth, creating a global community reflecting multiple viewpoints taking actions for a restorative future.

Who will benefit from what you propose? What have you observed that makes you think that?
All of Earth Protect target audiences - plus active sharing of knowledge and ideas within and among the EP Community Also benefits those who function better in visual arts vs verbal or written means of communication and sharing of ideas.

What progress have you made so far?
We have built www.earthprotect.com as a pilot project and developed our film division, www.earthprotectproductions.com. In this early pilot stage, we have aggregated over 2,600 videos and 3,600 blogs geared at achieving global sustainability and a restorative future for our earth. Over 50 nonprofit partners have provide aligned curriculum, up-to-the-discovery content, and resources that would otherwise be hidden from public dialogue.

What would be a successful outcome for your idea or project?
Millions all over the globe sharing stories that inspire or demonstrate actions to protect the Earth
