A Problem of Meds in Water that WE Can Solve

Unused meds, about 200 million pounds of them each year have to be disposed of and NOT down our drains. Flushing meds pollutes lakes, rivers and drinking water. At home it's a poison risk for kids and teens, and passing it along could cause a very bad result for the people who take them. What to do?

Well, this time there is something to do. "Dispose My Meds" is  a new program launched by the National Community Pharmacy Association with more than 800 community pharmacies signed up from 40 states in the US. We bring them in, they send them to a medical waste disposal or we can get postage paid envelopes and mail the drugs ourselves.

DisposeMyMeds.org is our source for pharmacies that are near us.

FINALLY, something easy and concrete to do about a problem. Let's do it. I am on this today. Join me.
